About the Formulation
Ulkus-DSR is a fixed-dose gastrointestinal combination containing Pantoprazole 40 mg as enteric-coated (EC) pellets and Domperidone 30 mg as sustained-release (SR) pellets. It combines effective gastric acid suppression with prokinetic activity to help manage acid-related disorders associated with reflux and impaired gastrointestinal motility.
Indication / Uses
Used in the management of GERD, acid-related dyspepsia, heartburn, and gastrointestinal disorders associated with delayed gastric emptying and impaired gastrointestinal motility.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Pantoprazole inhibits the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase proton pump in gastric parietal cells, suppressing the final step of gastric acid secretion. Domperidone acts mainly as a peripheral dopamine D₂-receptor antagonist, enhancing upper gastrointestinal motility and promoting gastric emptying. Together, they help reduce gastric acidity and improve gastrointestinal motility.
