About the Formulation
Symkast-FX is a fixed-dose anti-allergic combination containing Montelukast 10 mg and Fexofenadine HCl 120 mg. It combines leukotriene receptor antagonism with antihistaminic activity to provide comprehensive relief from allergic rhinitis symptoms and associated allergic manifestations.
Indication / Uses
Used for the relief and management of allergic rhinitis symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itching, and watery eyes.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Montelukast selectively blocks cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors, reducing leukotriene-mediated airway and nasal inflammation. Fexofenadine is a selective H₁-antihistamine that blocks histamine action, helping relieve sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, and watery eyes. Together, they provide complementary control of allergic symptoms.
