About the Formulation
Symkast-LC is a fixed-dose anti-allergic combination containing Montelukast 10 mg and Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride 5 mg. It combines leukotriene receptor antagonism with antihistaminic activity to provide effective relief from allergic rhinitis and related allergic symptoms.
Indication / Uses
Used for the relief and management of allergic rhinitis symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, nasal itching, and watery eyes.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Montelukast selectively blocks CysLT1 leukotriene receptors, reducing leukotriene-mediated inflammation and airway responses. Levocetirizine is a selective H₁-antihistamine that blocks histamine action, helping relieve sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, and watery eyes. Together, they provide complementary control of allergic symptoms.
