About the Formulation
Mucobar-A is a mucolytic combination containing Acetylcysteine 300 mg and Ambroxol HCl 30 mg, formulated to reduce the thickness and viscosity of respiratory mucus and facilitate its clearance. It helps improve airway clearance and provides relief in respiratory conditions associated with excessive or thick sputum.
Indication / Uses
Used in the management of productive cough and respiratory conditions associated with excessive or thick mucus, such as bronchitis, COPD, and other airway disorders.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Acetylcysteine breaks disulfide bonds in mucus glycoproteins, making thick sputum thinner and easier to expel. Ambroxol enhances mucociliary clearance and surfactant production, improving mucus transport and airway protection. Together, they help liquefy mucus and promote effective expectoration.
