About the Formulation
Moxishel-LP is a combination ophthalmic formulation containing Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v and Loteprednol Etabonate 0.5% w/v, providing complementary antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity. It is formulated to manage ocular conditions where bacterial infection is associated with inflammation.
Indication / Uses
Indicated for the treatment of steroid-responsive ocular inflammation associated with bacterial infection or where there is a risk of bacterial infection.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Moxifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, disrupting bacterial DNA replication and causing bacterial cell death. Loteprednol Etabonate is a corticosteroid that suppresses the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing ocular inflammation, redness, swelling, and discomfort.
