About the Formulation
Moxishel-D is a combination ophthalmic formulation containing Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v and Dexamethasone Phosphate 0.1% w/v, combining antibacterial and anti-inflammatory actions. It is formulated to manage bacterial eye infections associated with inflammation.
Indication / Uses
Indicated for the treatment of steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions associated with bacterial infection or when there is a risk of bacterial infection.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Moxifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing bacterial DNA replication and causing bacterial cell death. Dexamethasone is a potent corticosteroid that suppresses inflammatory mediators and reduces ocular inflammation, redness, swelling, and discomfort.
