About the Formulation
This is a hepatobiliary therapeutic formulation containing Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) 300 mg, a naturally occurring hydrophilic bile acid. It helps improve bile flow, reduce the toxic effects of hydrophobic bile acids, and support liver and biliary tract function.
Indication / Uses
Used in the management of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), cholesterol gallstones, and selected cholestatic liver and biliary disorders.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Ursodeoxycholic Acid improves bile flow (choleresis) and reduces the absorption and accumulation of toxic hydrophobic bile acids. It also decreases cholesterol saturation in bile, promoting the gradual dissolution of cholesterol gallstones, while providing a protective effect on hepatocytes and cholangiocytes.
